Under the direction of the head instructor, this position is responsible for the day to day classroom instruction, implementation of adult education curriculum, and assisting with outreach planning, and student data collection for reporting purposes.

Full Description: Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ “Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.”
• Develop lesson plans and course syllabi that follow the PAM Model used in adult education, be able to modify accordingly throughout the year, under the supervision of the head instructor.
• Execute lesson plans utilizing technology, Google, Microsoft office, etc.
• Strong classroom management skills
• Creativity in teaching in resource-constrained environments
• Experience or be willing to be trained in multi-level classrooms
• Empathy for students with barriers and skills in building rapport
• Assist in orientation and the enrollment of program participants during orientation times scheduled throughout the school year including pre-test administration and scoring
• Help head instructor with student follow-up surveys and post-testing
• Help head instructor maintain accurate participant files and data for federal and state reporting purposes including program participant goals, citizenship, employment goals, technology gains, post-secondary education goals, and educational gains
• Help head instructor with counseling participants on a regular basis to maintain student goal sheets
• Report student hours in a timely manner to the ALC Student Records Clerk
• Attend periodic staff meetings and appropriate required staff development activities
• Ability to travel for out of town conferences when needed
• Demonstrated ability to take direction – teachable

• Ability to assess needs and respond with appropriate action to achieve goals – persistent problem solver

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma, GED, and/or Associates degree or some college.
• Familiarity with school administrative tasks and learning methods
• Ability to communicate effectively, work with, relate to, and teach diverse populations in a multicultural setting.
• Ability to keep confidential records, gather data, compile information and prepare accurate reports.
• Excellent computer skills and recordkeeping abilities.
• Ability to use classroom technology for online instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Bilingual Preferred
